FARE website relaunch

Dear friends of the FARE network,

It is with great pleasure, and some relief, that we can inform you that the transformation of the FARE website has now been successfully completed. Following an extensive period of consultation, FARE launched its new website yesterday (23nd April). The new site incorporates a number of significant improvements developed on the basis of extensive usability testing. The new site is now live and fully functional.

Improvements include a clearer navigation based on the needs of users, a complete revamp of the static content and a much clearer design.

Howard Holmes, from FURD, who manages the website, said: 'I am very excited at the possibilities for interaction and learning that the new farenet.org site opens up for groups fighting racism and discrimination across Europe. It has been a personal ambition since meetings between FURD and Progetto Ultra back in 1996 that we should develop innovative ways of enabling groups to share knowledge, ideas and experiences. This cross-fertilisation and dissemination is a key objective of FARE and I believe the many new features on the revamped site can only hasten this process'

What´s new?

*	New static content: Many changes and developments have taken place in the FARE network in the last couple of years. This was sadly not always reflected by our Homepage. We hope that the new site will answer most questions, such as what FARE is all about, what our main working areas are and who the partners are we work with on a daily basis.
*	Resources: You´ll recognize that there´s now the possibility to download all the materials which have been produced by FARE and our partners in the past, such as the Action Week posters, the fanzines of the past World and European Championships, the UEFA Guides and loads of other stuff.
*	External and internal links: In each category you´ll now find helpful information on a range of topics.

Coming in the future:

*	We want to reflect the breadth of the FARE network on our website. This means that information about all groups who feel a belonging to the network and share a desire for a better football, should be present on our website. We´ll include a big links section of groups all over Europe, who are fighting racism in their own country. If you are part of such a group please send some short information to either of the addresses below.
*	We´re looking forward to introducing our partners in more detail in the future and are in the process of thinking how this will be done, eg by short videos, interviews, etc.
*	A more "multimedia" approach of the site is upcoming. We´re currently looking into the possibility of sections of videos, radio interviews and music on the topic of discrimination in football. If you have already produced anything like this, please get in touch.

Help us improve the site!

It would be helpful if you could have a look at the website and send all your cri ticism, ideas and suggestions for new stories & features we should cover to either Martin Endemann of BAFF at endi at aktive-fans.de and Howard Holmes of FURD howard at furd.org .

Finally, many thanks to our website design consultant, Dave Lawton, for all his hard work in producing a unique content management system that underpins the new site.

Howard & Martin
